Founder's Story and Vision... Phil Alexander sat down at the phone one warm September evening in 1995, not looking forward to his next hour, to be spent calling all the soccer parents with a schedule change for their children’s Augusta Georgia team. Halfway through the now-weekly ritual, he thought ‘there’s got to be a better way’. Alexander, a former engineer in the nuclear power industry, diagrammed a simple telecom software solution that allowed a digitally recorded voice message to be delivered to a telephone list in a matter of seconds. All Alexander had to do was record his message into a phone receiver and press a key to activate delivery. CallingPost Communications was born. “It was really a simple idea,” says Alexander, looking back with a smile. “Why make 25 calls when you can make just one, digitally record it, and let technology call the rest of the team.” Alexander put together a small home-based company to offer his idea to other coaches and local volunteer groups. His initial idea was to save local youth coaches, church groups, and civic organizations the time it took to call long lists of club members or team parents. Today, CallingPost has expanded its product line to include customized and branded high-speed voice messaging products for emergency notification, political candidates, and businesses, as well as the original volunteer messaging service and deliver messages to all 48 continental states. |
